November 5-10, 2018 – Toronto-based investment firm Arche Capital joined Canada’s official delegation at the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, leveraging the global platform to strengthen Ontario-China partnerships in green infrastructure and fintech.

As one of 12 Guest of Honour countries, Canada’s pavilion featured cross-sector innovations from energy to advanced manufacturing. Arche Capital engaged with over 200 Chinese enterprises during the six-day event, including a high-profile meeting with Jiangsu Governor Wu Zhenglong, who toured the Canadian pavilion with Federal Minister Jim Carr and Ambassador John McCallum.
“The scale of China’s market modernization creates unprecedented opportunities for Ontario’s clean-tech innovators,” said an Arche Capital executive. “We’re bridging Canadian R&D expertise with China’s industrial upgrade demands through targeted joint ventures.”
With 3,600+ global exhibitors and 160,000 buyers, CIIE solidified Shanghai’s role as Asia’s trade gateway. Arche Capital’s participation aligns with its mandate to scale Canadian SMEs’ access to China’s $4 trillion import market while fostering technology-driven bilateral growth.
