Arche Capital Meets with Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) to Explore Long Term Collaboration Opportunities

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, June 10, 2026

A delegation from Arche Capital visited Winnipeg for meetings with David Chartrand, President of the Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF), and Wab Kinew, Premier of Manitoba. The discussions, held along the banks of the Red River, focused on strengthening mutual understanding and exploring potential long-term collaboration grounded in respect for local culture and community values.

MMF is the federally recognized self government of the Manitoba Métis, led by President Chartrand since 1997. Under his leadership, MMF has advanced community development, cultural revitalization, and governance initiatives across the province.

During the meeting, Arche Capital and President Chartrand exchanged views on community economic development, cultural preservation, and future opportunities for Métis youth. Chartrand shared insights into the history of the Métis Nation, its ongoing cultural resurgence, and the priorities guiding MMF’s community focused development agenda. Arche Capital noted the Métis people’s deep connection to the land and their longstanding resilience.

Premier Wab Kinew joined the discussions, emphasizing Manitoba’s strong resource base and broad development potential. He highlighted the important role Indigenous communities play in the province’s economic and social landscape.

The parties explored several areas of potential cooperation, including:

• Critical mineral resources: responsible development and community participation in northern Manitoba’s nickel, copper, and gold assets;

• Agriculture and agri food trade: leveraging Manitoba’s position as a major global producer of canola, wheat, soybeans, and other commodities;

• Renewable energy: opportunities in wind, hydro, and community-based energy initiatives;

• The Port of Churchill: its emerging role as a northern trade corridor with future potential in Arctic related shipping and resource transport.

During the visit, the Arche Capital delegation also toured MMF operated community facilities, including a women and children’s shelter, a seniors’ residence, and a nursery project. These visits provided firsthand insight into MMF’s work in social services, cultural continuity, and community wellbeing.

The meetings along the Red River established a constructive channel for continued dialogue between Arche Capital and the Manitoba Métis Federation. Both sides described the visit as a positive starting point and expressed interest in building a long-term partnership based on trust and mutual respect.
