Arche Dialogues Forum Held in Toronto: Chinese VC Pioneer Wenlu Ying Shares Strategic Insights
[Toronto, July 18, 2025] Arche Dialogues, a thought leadership forum hosted by Arche Capital, was held at the firm’s Yonge Street headquarters in Toronto. The forum brought together leaders from Canadian and Chinese business, academia, and media to discuss global capital flows and the role of technology in shaping investment strategies.

The event featured Wenlu Ying, Chairman of Addor Capital, as its keynote guest. Addor Capital is a leading Chinese venture capital firm founded in 2014 and based in Nanjing. The firm manages over one hundred ten billion yuan in assets and has invested in more than one thousand companies. Of those, two hundred five have successfully gone public in domestic and international markets. Addor has ranked among the top four venture capital firms in China for ten consecutive years.
In his keynote remarks, Ying spoke about the rapid growth of China’s innovation economy and the expanding role of international capital partnerships. He described how Chinese venture capital has moved beyond local hubs to become part of a globally connected investment network. He also highlighted several sectors of interest, including photovoltaics, hydrogen energy, artificial intelligence, and advanced materials. In addition, Ying discussed Addor’s green investment funds and the firm’s Star Network strategy. The Star Network is a regional investment model designed to link smaller cities and provinces with capital, talent, and innovation resources.

The forum was moderated by Mr. Zhang, Co-founder of Arche Capital and a professor at the University of British Columbia. Known internationally for his work in artificial intelligence and interdisciplinary research, Mr. Zhang shared recent work on how emerging technologies are reshaping global finance. He presented ongoing research in financial artificial intelligence, macroeconomic analysis, evaluation of Environmental, Social, and Governance factors, and geopolitical risk forecasting. He also introduced his forthcoming academic monograph on biosensor technologies, which has been accepted for open-access publication by Intech Open.

Among the attending guests were Arche Capital Co-founders Dr Douglas Geoffrey Lash and Mr. James Jiang. Business leaders from both countries, representatives from international financial institutions, and members of the media were also present.
Roundtable discussions covered themes such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, Web3 technologies, and contemporary art. The conversations were energetic and insightful, focusing on how capital and innovation are converging across disciplines and regions. Participants explored both the opportunities and the ethical challenges associated with these developments.

Arche Dialogues continues to serve as a platform that connects Chinese innovation with global capital. Through meaningful exchange between leaders in technology, finance, academia, and the arts, the forum supports new thinking about how investment and imagination can shape the future.
