Ican Arts and Jiangsu Chinese Painting Society Sign Strategic Partnership, Ushering in a New Era of Canada-China Cultural Exchange

Toronto, August 21, 2025 — In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the sister province relationship between Ontario and Jiangsu, China, Ican Arts and the Jiangsu Chinese Painting Society officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement today in Toronto. This marks a significant milestone in Canada China artistic collaboration.


Building Bridges Through Art


As a leading multicultural arts platform in North America, Ican Arts has long been committed to fostering cross cultural dialogue and artistic innovation. The Jiangsu Chinese Painting Society, a prominent academic institution in the field of traditional Chinese painting, brings together renowned artists and extensive curatorial experience.

Through this partnership, both organisations aim to combine their strengths to build a mutually beneficial framework. The collaboration will expand the global reach of Chinese painting and deepen cultural exchange between Canada and China.

Inaugural Exhibition: Homeland


As part of the launch, the two organisations co hosted a special exhibition titled Homeland on August 23 at Ican Arts. The exhibition featured the works of artist couple Zhai You and Fan Lei. Through delicate brushwork and poetic imagery, the exhibition offered a heartfelt interpretation of the timeless theme of “home,” drawing enthusiastic attendance from local art lovers and cultural figures.
