Arche Capital's CTO Dr. Chris Zhang Delivers Lecture in Nanjing: Cross-Border Empowerment of "AI + Financial Innovation"

已更新:6月17日

Against the backdrop of rapid global advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) technology, Nanjing University hosted a specialized academic lecture by internationally renowned AI expert Dr. Chris Zhang on May 18. Co-organized by Nanjing University, the Canadian Financial Investment Association (CFIA), and the Jiangsu Digital Finance Association, this event adopted a multidimensional format combining "academic seminars + industrial investigations" to foster deeper integration of AI technology with academic disciplines and financial innovation. Notably, Dr. Zhang’s participation under multiple roles — including President of the Canadian Association for Mathematics and Science, Member of the IEEE Organizing Committee, and Technical Director of Arche Capital — highlighted the international academic community’s focus on the digital economic development of the Yangtze River Delta.

As President of the Canadian Association for Mathematics and Science and a Member of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Organizing Committee, Dr. Zhang systematically outlined his research trajectory, beginning from his postdoctoral work at the University of British Columbia (UBC), in his keynote speech titled "AI Discipline Empowerment and Financial Innovation." He highlighted groundbreaking achievements such as AlphaFold3 and ChatGPT-4o to demonstrate how foundational mathematical research underpins AI breakthroughs: "The era of large-scale models demands deeper interdisciplinary exploration into the ‘uncharted waters’—this is the essence of the ‘STEM-X’ initiative promoted by the Canadian Association for Mathematics and Science in recent years."

During the event, a joint expert team from the three organizations conducted in-depth investigations at key technology parks in Jiangsu Province. In Nanjing’s Jiangbei New District, the focus centered on the integration of AI algorithms with financial derivatives pricing models. Meanwhile, Suzhou Industrial Park showcased cutting-edge applications of quantum computing in risk hedging. As a member of the IEEE FinTech Standards Working Group and Technical Director of Arche Capital, Dr. Zhang revealed: "The three parties are exploring the establishment of a ‘Pacific AI Innovation Corridor,’ where AI technology will serve as a critical bridging mechanism."

As global AI governance enters a phase of regulatory reshaping, this event—through its innovative model of "academic leadership + international collaboration + industrial implementation"—provided a transnational cooperation blueprint for building the Yangtze River Delta Digital Economy Demonstration Zone.
